I'm a junior in High School, and I'm currently taking Chem., and I have the option to take this class called "Science Research", or taking "Computer Service Technology." I am wondering what you basically do, like do you pick a topic and throughout the semester research it, and write a paper on it at the end or is it a bunch of little experiments. My friend is taking it, and the teacher of science research is my old biology teacher who was pleasant. I know that science research probably looks better than computer service tech. for college, but is it a VERY difficult, time consuming class? i don't partially LOVE science, but wouldn't mind doing the research as long as its not impossible to handle. Computer. service tech is almost all freshman, and it doesn't look like i would enjoy it. The S.R. class doesn't even have its own period, it just says on the schedule its after school? My guidence counselor doesnt know very much about S.R. so any info. is much appreciated. Thanks

If you don't think you would enjoy the Computer Service Technology class, then do not take it. The Science Research class is an advanced, honors course (most likely). It will use what you previously learned in biology and what you are currently learning in chemistry - and expand upon them. As for it being one long research project, or several small ones, I do not know. It will not be an easy class, but it should be a fun class. Discuss it with the teacher before making a final decision. Since you have had the teacher before, he/she will be able to advise if this is the right class for you.

this class should be fun. You do a lot of scientific activities and experiments. You also do research papers.
