what other uses are there for the element?

My element is oxygen and i don't get this at all my project is due friday please i need answers fast

Its used in respiration - breathing!



Its used to rust iron - rust is the best polish known.



Its used to enable things to burn and heat up - to make cheerful wood burning fires....mind it makes forest fires as well which isn't so good.



Its used in oxyacetylene torches for cutting metal and welding.



Its used to revive people with failing lungs, and save passengers on crashing airplanes ( oxygen masks ).



Its used in blast furnaces to make molten iron really hot and runny.



As liquid oxygen its used to provide the oxidiser for rocket fuel ( It isn't the fuel itself. )



Enough ? There will be more - try googling BOC - they must have a site which will give heaps of uses for oxygen.

Oxygen is one of the gases we breath. It also combines with carbon as CO2. Oxygen combines with many other elements. Liquid oxygen can be used for freezing, even medically for removing growths.

I would google Oxygen to find out more.
