Temperature in Chemistry is measured in K Kelvin where at absolute 0 particles cannot move because it is so cold, as the temperature increases the movement between the particles becomes more energetic resulting in more collisions and more reactions between the molecules. Also as the temperature changes the state of the elements may change between solid liquid and gas. Hope this helped

Temperature is the average kinetic energy of a group of molecules. Kinetic energy is expressed in motion. It increases as the velocity increases. Temperature therefore is a rough average of the velocity of molecules. As the velocity increases, so does the force of the collisions between molecules. This can either cause them to decompose by loosing atoms or changing phase as the distance between them increases. If the distance increases enough that the molecules can move freely in space the material is either a liquid or a gas.

if heat moves it causes materials to move with it but cold just absorbes into materials and causes little motion by itself!
