You need an adapter which converts your local mains voltage to 12 volts DC and you need to take out your car speakers (or speakers retrieved from a scrap car) . That way there is no problem in matching speakers and tape player.

You need to get a 12vdc power source.

You should also check that you have matching impedance though. If you hook up a car stereo to home theater speakers that are incompatible you will blow the speakers, the stereo, or both. Impedance is measured in ohms (the omega symbol) and your speakers should give a specific impedance while the stereo should give a range. the speaker's value must be in the range of the stereo

and FYI concerning impedance, although hooking up more speakers may make a difference in the volume of sound, impedances do not add so for example:

if the stereo takes 8-16 ohms impedance you cannot hook up 2 speakers with an impedance of 4 but you can hook up 8 speakers with an impedance of 10 ohms

Also, if you have your choice of car cassette players try to get one that has RCA jacks or outputs. This will allow you to plug it directly into your home theater system, if you already have one.

The only unique component you need is the 12VDC supply with adequate current supply and voltage regulation. That will likely cost more than buying a cassette player, and will look clumsy and contrived. But whatever you choose, do it quickly. The cassette tape is going the way of 8-track and VHS.

Just park the car in the lounge room of your home then it will be a home cassette player.

OK, OK, It was a silly response. But rest assured, it will work out less expensive and may even save your life (electrocultion) by simply buying a cassette player.

you would possibly want to convert it to mp3, utilising significant different and children electronics and a computing gadget. Then, you would possibly want to wrap the unique cassette in a ziplock bag, surrounded via aluminum foil, and stick it contained in the freezer till you thoroughly forgot you had it. yet, the MP3 might want to nonetheless be there -- and also you would possibly want to hearken to it, and enjoy your Father's voice.... i'd convert it quickly - and keep it, in the previous the cassette is broken.

Car player works on 12V DC supply and at home 230 volts AC supply is available. So you have to use an AC/DC converter
