No, mood rings change color based on ambient heat of your body, and the only time they are correct is when emotions affect your body temperature.

We all know the girls that i am talking about

Well they are time bombs and they are ticking

And the only question's when they'll blow up

And they'll blow up

We know that without a doubt

Cause they're those girls,

Yeah, you know those girls that let their emotions get the best of them

And i've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man

Let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings

So we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off

Cause we'll know just what they're thinking, just what they're thinking

She's so pretty but she doesn't always act that way

Her moods are swinging on the swing set almost everyday

She said to me that she's so happy its depressing

And all I said was someone get that girl a mood ring

If its drama you want then look no further

They're like "The Real World"

meets "Boy Meets World"

meets "Days of Our Lives"

And it just kills me how they get away with murder

They'll anger you then bat their eyes

Those pretty eyes that watch you sympathize

And i've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man

Let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings

So we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off

Cause we'll know just what they're thinking, just what they're thinking

She's so pretty but she doesn't always act that way

Her moods are swinging on the swing set almost everyday

She said to me that she's so stressed out that it's soothing

And all I said was someone get that girl a mood ring

Cause when it's black it means watch you back because you're probably

the last person in the world right now she wants to see

and when it's blue it means that you should call her up immediately

and ask her out because she'll most likely agree

and when it's green, it simply means that she is really stressed

and when it's clear, it means she's completely emotionless

(and that's alright, i must confess)

We all know the girls that I am talking about

She liked you wednesday, but now it's friday and she has to wash her hair

and it just figures that we'll never figure them out

first she's Jekyll, then she's Hyde... at least she makes a lovely pair

mood ring, oh, mood ring

oh, tell me, will you bring

the key to unlock this mystery

of girls and their emotions

play it back in slow motion

so i may understand the complex infrastructure known as the female mind

No mood rings don't work. The reason it is always black for you is because its your body temperature or the temperature in the room. And that is why it is different on other people. If you walked from inside to outside the mood ring would change almost instantly.so it has nothing to do with your mood. It really should be called a temperature ring!

I have mood rings as well as mood bracelets (2 of each) and I will put one of each on each arm/hand and they'll all show something different. It does have to do with the heat your body is giving off, when I take the bracelets off at night in the winter, they turn black, but the rings are always dark blue/purple. Maybe it depends on the size of the mood jewelry also.

Bottom line, I'm thinking that they're made to entertain us

No. They show the temperature of your body. You moods can be anywhere on the map and your body temperature can be hot or cold. Its just chemicals that change colors based on temp and not what your thinking about or if your going to hack someone into pieces. They use the same technology to check the levels of propane in their tanks.

They dont "really" work but they do work for sometime due to a phenomen called the placebo effect where the mind is made to feel better becuase it expects a particular treatment to work. This same effect canbe produced with even a starch tablet /a peppermint or a religious item if the user has enough faith that it will work

mood rings work off of heat. the hotter you are the more colors it will change. If its black it means you have cold hands

i have a mood ring and it changes color. but i dont think it has anything to do with my mood, just the temperature. i think it's cool and it gets alot of attention.

no not really lol

unless you are mad all the time and your temperature is always a bit up

hmm... why dont they justuse mood rings to figure out if you have a fever or not. i think that will work better

No, it changes color based on the temperature of your skin.

No, they work on temperature only. Your moods don't affect your external members temperature enough to make them more then a novelty.

Yes they do! My girlfriend has one and when she is in a good mood(rare) it's blue and it puts a big red mark on my forehead when she's not.

YES THEY WORK BUT ONLY TO DETERMINE BODY TEMPERTURE. THE COLORS CHANGE BY THE INCREASING AND DECREASING OF ONE BODY TEMP.

the color depends on the warmth of your skin. so no, they don't work.
