If by "work," you mean if it really changes color according to your mood, then no. There is a kind of liquid inside the ring that changes color according to your temperature.

They were a huge fad in the 70's....maybe they have made a comeback. They measure the heat in your finger which affects the color of the stone.

Yes, they do work! My husband gave me one so that he would always know what kind of mood I was in. When I am mad, it leaves a big red mark on his forehead!!!

when your body gets hotter the color changes and they have made a chart to correspond to the colors for what they say you emotion is at that time...
they work pretty good too.
