On January 1: the day before yesterday I was 10 years old, but next year I will be thirteen years old....

December 31, 1994 was the date of your birth.

December 30, 2005 you were still 10.

On January 1, 2006, you are 11 years old.

You'll turn twelve on December 31, 2006.

And in the year 2007, you will turn 13... That is not to say that on January 1 you'll be 13, but rather to simply state the fact that you will be thirteen AT SOME POINT THAT YEAR.

Great fun ol' boy, thanks!

You birthday is Dec 31

If today is Jan 1, 2006 then you were 10 on Dec 30, 2005 (the day before yesterday).

You became 11 on Dec 31, 2005

You will become 12 on Dec 31, 2006

You will become 13 on Dec 31, 2007

So for one day of next year (2007) you will be 13.

Your birthday is on the 31st december. And you are asking this question on the Jan 1st. Two days before you were 10 you are asking when you are eleven. On your birthday this year you will be 12. so on your next years birth day you will be 13.

That is not possible. if you are 11 now on October 30th 2006 next year on October 30th 2007 you will be 12. You will not be 13 untill October 30th 2008. that is 2 years from now.

at the instant is January 1st. the day in the previous the day previous replace into December thirtieth, he replace into 13. day after at the instant replace into his 14th birthday. he's turning 15 on the final day of THIS 12 months, so he's turning sixteen on the final day of next 12 months.
