how do you plant a yam that has had an asexual reproduction?
okay for som weird reason (i got this idea from my science teacher) i cut a yam in half and put it in water so basically it could have sex with itself.
so she said to plant the sprout "baby" ,which i learned is a clone of the yam, so how do i plant this yam w/ a plant sticking out?

Most yams/sweet potatoes will sprout when they are suspended in water(half in)Roots form on the bottom and sprouts on the top. It is better not to split it. As you said it is asexual, so no sex needed. No exchange of genetic material. The whole thing is planted, roots in the soil and sprouts out.

White potatoes will grow from the "eyes" . They are cut apart so that an eye is in each hole. Sprouts and roots come from the "eye", another form of asexual reproduction.

get a lab coat and some crazy hair, because you have officially earned the "mad scientist" title.

Give yourself a pat on the back.

And ask your teacher, it depends on the shape of the yam.
